The Midgie Magazine

Hey everyone,

On Sunday, May 24th, we had a journalist from The Midgie Magazine, a travel magazine which is published all over Scotland, come and interview us/take pictures for an article that they are writing about Parkour. They are focusing on the Dundee Parkour community, and therefore the article will be all about DUPK! These are great news, and will hopefully raise a greater awareness of our sport here on the East side of Scotland, and will help dispell some of the negative publicity we have gotten in the past.

The article should be published in August, so please keep a lookout! I will also keep you updated..

Rustic

International Parkour Day

APK (American Parkour), DUPK (Dundee Parkour), and PKFR International are declaring the first Saturday of June to be INTERNATIONAL PARKOUR DAY.

This will be a day when groups across the country get together to celebrate the art we all love (Freerunners are invited as well). We chose the first Saturday in June because there are no conflicting national holidays, and unlike dates like "David Belle's Birthday", it will always be a Saturday.

We'd like the day to include an important element in the parkour community, a "Leave no Trace" cleanup. We hope you'll join in on what we hope will become a tradition of celebration of Parkour and Freerunning. We'd also like to emphasize bringing new people out on this day or taking extra care and time in interacting with the public and curious onlookers. Please check this thread for links to local jams and events. Please email your events for that day to m2@americanparkour.com or dundeepk@gmail.com and we will post them on our sites.

DUPK,
Rustic B

This article was actually written by Syn from PKFR International, I just changed it from national to international by confirming our participation.

Dundee PK Jam Video

Hey guys!

The video for our first ever parkour jam hosted in Dundee, is up! Please check it out. As you know, we had traceurs from all over Scotland come down for a day of training here in Dundee, and we received both news and radio attention. As I was leading the jam, though, I didn't get most of the good PK footage, so the video consists of mostly tricking, I think..but it's a good overview of the day, in my opinion.

If the other guys DO finally end up sending me their footage, I might make an actual parkour video for the jam in the future.

But for now, enjoy! :D
